Hi there! My name is Heather Legge and I am a mother of two girls, certified compounding pharmacy technician, freelance writer, avid photographer of daily life, and lover of cozy days reading and sipping coffee. A former New England girl, I now live in central Virginia but have held tight to my northern roots. A gorgeous pristine white snowstorm makes me squeal with joy as loudly as my kids.
Living the Small Moments was born out of my desire to slow down my life and appreciate each moment of the day for what it is. A planner by nature, I constantly think about the future and things outside of my control. When I get caught up in that, I miss out on the things that matter. My health took a nosedive in 2012, and I was forced to slow down. Initially irritated and anxious, I soon started seeing ordinary moments that I had missed before. It was the best thing that could have happened to me.
Ordinary moments that I love:
*My older daughter tells stories out loud to herself in the shower.
*The morning cup of coffee is so much more enjoyable when relaxing on the couch or writing in my journal rather than running out the door.
*When the kids are being quiet and not fighting, instead of using that time to catch up on the endless to do list, I sneak over to look at them and catch those rare glimpses of them talking quietly with their heads together.
*Going to bed early and snuggling up with a good book is far more beautiful than frantically getting ready for the next day.
So how can I help you enjoy your small moments? I teach workshops on using your smartphone to capture and edit everyday storytelling pictures. I can help maintain a personal blog for you or help you set up and maintain social media accounts. I want you to enjoy the moments of your life and not worry about the parts that can overwhelm you. I want you to have the tools and resources to make your life simpler and keep your memories and stories alive for generations to come.
I graduated from Wells College (an all women’s school at the time) in 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, concentrating in healthcare policy and bioethics. I plan to begin my Masters of Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill in the fall of 2017.
Allow me help you live your small moments! It is my honor and privilege to work closely with you and the important people in your life.
